Master of Business Administration (MBA)

A two-year AQF Level 9 postgraduate program with four specialisations — Marketing, Information Technology, Accounting (CPA accreditation TBC) and Health Management — building advanced leadership and management capability.

Course overview

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) has been meticulously designed to cater to the dynamic and evolving demands of global and domestic markets. This program is offered at the Melbourne Institute of Higher Education (MIHE) and features four specialised domains: Marketing, Information Technology (IT), Accounting (with CPA accreditation TBC), and Health Management. The MBA program is structured to deliver a rigorous academic and professional foundation while offering pathways to meaningful employment outcomes for both international and domestic students.

MBA Single or Double Specialisation or Electives Option

Spanning two years of full-time study, the MBA aligns with the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF) at Level 9, ensuring compliance with national standards for postgraduate education. Core Business units (8) form the foundation for all students.

Students can undertake a single specialisation of eight units or two specialisations of four units each to benefit from topics in an alternative specialisation, or they may opt for a single four-unit specialisation and four selected electives, which allows them to undertake study in areas of their particular interest. Students can also choose a selection of elective units from any of the specialisations or elective units available in the MBA or elective units from units available from other MIHE master’s programs, with approval from the dean. Enabling students to tailor their learning experience to their career aspirations. All students must complete the MBA capstone unit. If students complete an eight-unit specialisation, it will be noted on their testamur.

Modes of Delivery

The method of delivering lectures, tutorials, and interactive exercises for the MBA program primarily involves face-to-face (F2F) interactions, complemented by online resources as necessary. Face-to-face delivery entails attending in-person classes or participating in virtual classrooms through the Learning Management System (LMS).

Virtual classes via Zoom will also be offered for domestic students, providing greater accessibility and flexibility to learners within Australia.
